Hand Knitting and crochet since I was 6 years old. Yarn store in Germany, handknit designs for european yarn manufacturers (Aarlan, Filatura di Crossa etc.) Machine Knitting almost 30 years, my current collection is handloomed and hand finished and sold in high end stores, saks fifth avenue,nordstrom and directly to my customers. I teach at Michaels stores, knitting guild groups and in my own studio. I taught at the Art Institute of Chicago everything about handknitting, knit design, machine knitting, finishing techniques and crochet.

Hand Knitting for Beginners and advanced knitters Knit Design Finishing Techniques Crochet I believe that learning to knit and reading patterns is only a small part of creating a wonderful knit piece. Knit Design is essential to recognize the unlimited possibilities of knitting by hand or machine. Choosing the right finishing techniques really make or break a knit project. Many of the techniques I use and know are no-where to be found in books but can be learned in my classe now here..:)

Travel

I teach from my studio, I organise local knitting groups in NC. I also travel to give lectures about the history and the business of knitting. Knits are such an important part of the fashion industry and is very often overseen by students and talented knitters.

I quite much did everything these last 30 years in my business with knits. Design (for my company or other companies), manufacturing (big numbers and one of a kind), wholesale (to department stores and small galleries),dealing with a rep in her showroom in CA, my own showroom in chicago apparel center, my own store in santa fe, NM and retailing directly in womens events, shows, conventions. This is such an exciting area of the fashion industry.
