"Ikkuna" - Windowpanes
Many of the original Finnish ryas used simple, geometric designs, squares, diamonds, and floral shapes. These windowpanes of colour, feature hand-dyed yarns. Each block is a different shade, surrounded by dark grey-coloured wool. The arrangement of the coloured blocks is left to the maker of the rug, making each Rya a true original. |
