All our rya kits are individually handmade. The rya backing is specially woven on a floor loom, using pure linen warp and wool weft. The 100% wool Rya yarns are custom spun for us at a mill in the U.S. The rya yarns are all hand-dyed for each kit, making every rug unique. |

The rya kits are available in 3 sizes:
approx. 24" x 24".
3' x 5'
4' x 6'
Kits will include the handwoven rya backing, a pattern, yarn needle, wooden jig, and hand-dyed pure wool yarn, sufficient to complete the project.

Traditional Rya Designs
Most of our Rya rugs are based on the traditional folk designs of the Finnish Ryijy (rya).
Modern Rya Designs
The more modern rya rugs use simple shapes and colour blending.

All our rya kits are individually handmade. The rya backing is specially woven on a floor loom. Each of the rya yarns is hand-dyed specifically for the individual kit, making each rug unique. Because the yarns are hand-dyed, colours may not be exactly as shown. With hand-dyeing, there will be some colour variation in the yarns, creating interesting colour and blend effects to your rya. As the yarns are dyed at the time of the order, for some designs you may select a different colour for the background.
The Rya Rugs can be ordered in either kit form or woven. Please enquire for pricing of completed rugs.

All our rya tapestries are woven and hand knotted. I use a pure wool yarn and hand-dye all my colours. Depending on the size of the piece, please allow 2 -4 months for completion of your order, depending on yarn availability, and production scheduling.

All products are Custom orders and require a 50% non-refundable deposit.
This covers my cost of the yarns - should you change your mind and not want the kit.
