| All the hand spun yarns are dyed in small dyelots and each batch is unique. The colours are produced from a selection of natural plants. The colour selection will vary from time to time depending on the seasonal availability of dyes | |
| Mordants are used in the dye process to make the yarn colourfast. All mordants that are used are safe for the environment and are not discarded but are used again in the next dyebath wherever possible. Mordants are used in very small amounts, just enough to set the colour, but still leave the yarn soft to handle. | |
