Hemp Rug - Kuvikas Design
All our hemp rugs and other products are woven on traditional floor looms.
This loom is a 12 shaft Swedish countermarche loom and is approximately 100 years old.
The rugs can be ordered in a variety of sizes:
2' x 3'The maximum width for any rug is the maximum width of the looms - 58". On any rug there is some "takeup" when it comes off the loom. The takeup occurs when the yarns relax and bend slightly to the shape of the pattern. This is a natural occurrence and makes the finished width slightly narrower (approx. 10%-15%)
3' x 4'
4' x 5'
5' x 7'
The rugs can be woven to any length.
Stair runners can also be custom woven to your requirements. Colour selection is dependent on the yarn colours that are available.
